You will build proper relationships with the suppliers, gain knowledge about cost and the entire industry using tools that have been perfected for decades in the biggest corporations. All of this will help you turn the resources of your suppliers to your advantage.

How can you prepare for negotiations with a supplier when you’re constantly dealing with changing deadlines or customer and supplier complaints? How do you find time to thoroughly review a new offer from a supplier when all you do is put out fires?

“Effective purchasing negotiations” course is focused on presenting various methods of action, proven tactics and abilities of a buyer. It also teaches you how to build good, partner relationships with the customers.

For whom?

During the course you will familiarize yourself with many tools that corporate buyers use to prepare for negotiations (Kraljic matrix, Dutch windmill model, 11CS model, 0-10 model, CBD model, z-score +).

What else?

  • Learn about the tactics buyers use on each level of the cooperation – during bidding, negotiating contractual penalties, influencing suppliers;
  • Understand that attractiveness is perceived differently by the customers and the suppliers (Dutch windmill model);
  • Learn how to react when a supplier wants to increase the price. Practise buyers price defense techniques;
  • Learn about specific negotiation techniques and examples of how to practically use them;
  • Understand negotiations from the buyer’s perspective, learn how to detect bluff and a real need of a buyer;
  • Learn about tools that corporate buyers use to get ready for negotiations.

Our course is a practical workshop with only 10-15% time spent on lecture and theory presentation. All case study scenarios used during training are 100% based on real business life events. During our training, participants will play several games based on real life events, taking turns playing a role of a buyer or a seller. After each game session our coach will provide feedback and tips on what to do next.
