Lean – process development
VSM stands for value stream mapping and it is a method for analyzing the actual current material and information flow in the company and designing a future state. It is an interim analysis between the macro and micro business scale.
It focuses on visualizing the flow of information, materials and people/processes, starting from the order placement and ending with the final product shipment. VSM analysis is often a first step to implementing Lean Manufacturing tools and philosophy; it immediately simplifies the cooperation between the departments and helps you reduce time and save a lot of money.
Main goal of this workshop is to teach the participants the methodology of value stream mapping, how to analyze the production flow and identify waste in all processes. Using a current state map of a selected group of products/processes, the participants develop a future value stream map and an action plan of subprojects that help improve processes and flows in the organization.
Participants discuss future state issues and receive recommendations for possible changes, keeping the company specifics in mind. They define improvements and design the new ideal state based on the customer needs and requirements, therefore becoming the authors of the company reorganization project.
